The Tension Pro 29:18 Where there is no revelation, the [...]

The Tension

Pro 29:18 Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; But happy is he who keeps the law. (And we know that the law for us in the New covenant is Love God and Love people.)

There has always existed tension between different promises in the bible and our current situation in life that causes us to dig in for divine insight and revelation. It’s imperative in this season of natural history that we pray Ephesians 1:17-18 over our lives:

Eph 1:17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, Eph 1:18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, Eph 1:19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power

The wilderness reality vs the goodness of God is one such tension. A lot of people get in one camp or the other and deny either that God would allow us to ever experience anything that was unpleasant or believe that we have to live in the furnace of affliction. The reality is that between the tension of both of these realities lies a key to the kingdom through faith and the power of God.

We are living in a season of natural history or a moment of time that God has planned for us. Our world revolves around Chronos Time. Everything we do revolves around a beginning and an end with seconds, minutes and hours. God operates in Kairos Time which an event or a season. God makes the whole season and we walk through it.

Isa 46:9 Remember the former things of old, For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, Isa 46:10 Declaring the end from the beginning…

Different seasons happen when one season is over. Whenever you Paul saying in Gal. 4:4 “the fullness of time” or Jesus talking about “the signs of the times”, this is what they are talking about. There are seasons for the whole world and season in each one of our lives and the amazing thing is that they all work together. selah

Goodness of God

-Psa 73:1 A Psalm of Asaph. Truly God is good to Israel, To such as are pure in heart.

-Psa 84:11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold From those who walk uprightly.

- Psa 103:1-5 A Psalm Of David. Bless the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits:Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

-Psa 143:10 Teach me to do Your will, For You are my God; Your Spirit is good. Lead me in the land of uprightness.

-Mar 10:18 So Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God.

-Jas 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.

-Mat 12:15 But when Jesus knew it, He withdrew from there. And great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them all.

-Mat 14:14 And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude; and He was moved with compassion for them, and healed their sick.

-Php 4:19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

-2Co 1:20 For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us. We are to be Jesus in the Earth as His body! Glory to God!

-Isa 54:17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the LORD.

Rom 8:38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, Rom 8:39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

There are many more verses that declare the goodness of God and declare the kingdom reality that God doesn’t wasn’t us to have anything but an abundant life and all that that entails. After all Jesus came that we should have life abundantly. We have are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus (2Cor 5:21). We are the best thing He ever made with the potential to express His glory in the Earth. (Eph 2:10). Hallelujah! Praise God!

GOD IS GOOD!

The two-fold blessing of the wilderness

1.The proving ground of the Wilderness which leads to power Luk 4:1 Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, Luk 4:2 being tempted for forty days by the devil. And in those days He ate nothing, and afterward, when they had ended, He was hungry.

Wait a minute! Most people don’t like to talk about the wilderness because of the tension between it and God’s goodness. Understanding takes away the tension! Here’s the tension: Why would a good God who supplies all my needs who has no desire to see me put to shame who wants me to prosper take me into the wilderness.

Here’s the revelation

Jesus didn’t begin His public ministry until He came out of the wilderness. -Luk 4:13 Now when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from Him until an opportune time. -Luk 4:14 Then Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and news of Him went out through all the surrounding region.

He went into the wilderness filled with the Spirit and came out of the wilderness in the power of the Spirit. Operating in the power of the spirit comes through testing IN trials. Many of us are filled with the Spirit but we don’t manifest Him in the Earth in a tangible way or we manifest His attributes but not His power because we won’t embrace the process it takes to walk in it.

-Jas 1:2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, -Jas 1:3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. -Jas 1:4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

What is tested in a trial…your faithIf your faith is never tested you will never be in a position to lack nothing. So the realm where you experience the full manifestation of God’s goodness ultimately comes on the backside of the a wilderness. The purpose of a test is to get something out of you. How do you release your faith if you don’t need it. The more tests that you pass the higher the stakes get. The end result is you are an overcomer who walks in the manifested blessing of the Lord. On a side note IN THE WILDERNESS DO NOT FEED YOURSELF ON THE WILDERNESS because it leads to doubt and unbelief, FEED YOURSELF ON THE GOODNESS OF GOD WHICH LEADS TO FAITH.

The purpose of the wilderness proving ground is not the wilderness but the faith that is released in the midst of adversity.

In between the tension of these two realities lies a key to walking in blessing!

The three fold purpose of the wilderness proving ground experience.

1. Entering Realms of Power in the Kingdom

Act 14:22 strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying, “We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God.”

“A promise from God opens a door of possibility for you in the kingdom but is only entered through pain”

Testing comes in many shapes and sizes whether it’s facing an impossible situation or simply overcoming a temptation or flesh weakness that you told the Lord you we’re done with, but the result is the same the power of God will be released over that situation.

Can I propose to you that the things that consistantly surround you form a realm of possibility that God is summoning you to, and that if you contend for it through faith it will form your ministry.

2. Perserverance

Rom 5:3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance;

Heb 10:32 But recall the former days in which, after you were illuminated, you endured a great struggle with sufferings: Heb 10:33 partly while you were made a spectacle both by reproaches and tribulations, and partly while you became companions of those who were so treated; Heb 10:34 for you had compassion on me in my chains, and joyfully accepted the plundering of your goods, knowing that you have a better and an enduring possession for yourselves in heaven. Heb 10:35 Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. Heb 10:36 For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise: Heb 10:37 “FOR YET A LITTLE WHILE, AND HE WHO IS COMING WILL COME AND WILL NOT TARRY. Heb 10:38 NOW THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH; BUT IF ANYONE DRAWS BACK, MY SOUL HAS NO PLEASURE IN HIM.” Heb 10:39 But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul.

God wants us to finish our race stong. Trials that have been overcome through faith produce perserverance. They make you steady and unwaivering. “Like a tree that’s planted by the river of my God I will not be moved

Luk 18:6 Then the Lord said, “Hear what the unjust judge said. Luk 18:7 And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? Luk 18:8 I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?”

He will find it in me!

Deu 8:2 And you shall remember that the LORD your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not. 1Ch 29:17 I know also, my God, that You test the heart and have pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of my heart I have willingly offered all these things; and now with joy I have seen Your people, who are present here to offer willingly to You. Jer 20:12 But, O LORD of hosts, You who test the righteous, And see the mind and heart…

God knows everything but apparently the way He knows us is through tests. This truth brings more light to the passage in Matthew 7

Mat 7:22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ Mat 7:23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

Jesus was led by God into the wilderness to release the word of God through faith so he could come out in the power of God.

God IS Good.

3.The Marriage in the Wilderness

Hos 2:14 “Therefore, behold, I will allure her, Will bring her into the wilderness, And speak comfort to her. Hos 2:15 I will give her her vineyards from there, And the Valley of Achor as a door of hope; She shall sing there, As in the days of her youth, As in the day when she came up from the land of Egypt. Hos 2:16 “And it shall be, in that day,” Says the LORD, “That you will call Me ‘My Husband,’ And no longer call Me ‘My Master,’ Hos 2:17 For I will take from her mouth the names of the Baals, And they shall be remembered by their name no more. Hos 2:18 In that day I will make a covenant for them With the beasts of the field, With the birds of the air, And with the creeping things of the ground. Bow and sword of battle I will shatter from the earth, To make them lie down safely. Hos 2:19 “I will betroth you to Me forever; Yes, I will betroth you to Me In righteousness and justice, In lovingkindness and mercy; Hos 2:20 I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness, And you shall know the LORD. Hos 2:21 “It shall come to pass in that day That I will answer,” says the LORD; “I will answer the heavens, And they shall answer the earth. Hos 2:22 The earth shall answer With grain, With new wine, And with oil; They shall answer Jezreel. Hos 2:23 Then I will sow her for Myself in the earth, And I will have mercy on her who had not obtained mercy; Then I will say to those who were not My people, ‘You are My people!’ And they shall say, ‘You are my God!’ ”

So the question arises how does God allure us into the wilderness? There is nothing appealing about the wilderness? His “lure” is a deep yearning for more of Him. For some it happens when they have all the riches of the world and realize there empty, for some they have said yes to God and now he needs their heart. The wilderness is where you get married. It’s where your heart becomes His.

Hos 2:15 I will give her her vineyards from there, And the Valley of Achor as a door of hope; She shall sing there, As in the days of her youth, As in the day when she came up from the land of Egypt.

“The valley of Achor as a door of hope” literally means “that which had been a source of calamity would become a source of blessing.”

The only thing in the wilderness is you and Him.

Can I propose to you that God wants to kill you so you can live. He has to get the world out of you before He can use you in the world. Don’t waste a good wilderness experience because it is a season in your life that is necessary for you to move forward in God and if you don’t embrace it and learn from it you will live there for 40 years instead of a couple weeks.

Some of us are rebuking the Devil from our finances and God is trying to teach us how to be faithful and good stewards in little and we wonder why our authority doesn’t work.

The bottom line is God IS GOOD and He wants our maturity and our hearts at any cost to our flesh. Every blessing in God comes inside the boundaries of intimacy with Him.
